News "Spotlight" Series Continues with Broadway Understudies and Assassins' Gemignani The "Broadway Spotlight" series, which presents concerts with stars of the musical theatre, has added two more evenings of shows.

As previously announced, Avenue Q's John Tartaglia will take centerstage at the Ars Nova Theatre April 5 (8 PM) and April 26 (9:30 PM). He will be followed by an evening of Broadway understudies on May 3 (8 PM) and Assassins' Alexander Gemignani on June 7 (8 PM). Chatterbox host Seth Rudetsky will be the musical director for the May 3 concert, which will feature several understudies who will get the chance to strut their stuff for a live audience.

Alexander Gemignani will be making his Broadway debut as John Hinckley in the upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins at Studio 54. Off-Broadway he was seen as Brian in Avenue Q and as Officer Duffy in Sorry, Wrong Number. He is the recipient of the Best Performer Award for his work in the 2003 NY Fringe Festival production The Trapped Family Singers. Gemignani also appeared in the Huntington Theatre's production of Marty.

Previous "Broadway Spotlight" concerts have spotlighted the talents of Avenue Q's Ann Harada, Dance of the Vampires' Max von Essen, Les Miz’s Lauren Kennedy, Hairspray's Shoshana Bean, Into the Woods' Chad Kimball, Aida's Felicia Finley, Rent's Anthony Rapp, Wicked's Idina Menzel and Funny Girl’s Leslie Kritzer.
