Recorded live on Aug. 8 at the Apple Store SoHo in Manhattan, the "Live from SoHo" album features Spring Awakening's Tony-winning composer Duncan Sheik, original stars John Gallagher, Jr. and Lauren Pritchard, as well as current cast members Hunter Parrish and Alexandra Socha.

Spring Awakening is the first musical to take part in the "Live from SoHo" series on iTunes, that has welcomed such artists as Maroon 5, Linkin Park, Counting Crows, Taylor Swift and The Decemberists.

Spring Awakening producers said in a statement, "It is so cool to be the only Broadway show invited by iTunes to record songs for their 'LIVE from SoHo' series. To join such a diverse and popular group of recording artists is a little thrilling. The songs are variations on their show versions. In addition to old favorites (including John Gallagher Jr. and Lauren Pritchard performing 'Don't Do Sadness' / 'Blue Wind'), there's a pretty sexy Duncan version of 'The Guilty Ones,' a gorgeous rendition of 'Left Behind' by Hunter, and a one-time-only 'Bitch of Living' featuring Duncan, Hunter, and John as all the boys."

The six-track recording, available for $5.94 on iTunes, includes "The Bitch of Living," "Don't Do Sadness"/"Blue Wind," "Left Behind," "The Guilty Ones," "And Then There Were None" and "Touch Me."

* Based on the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind, Spring Awakening won eight 2007 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Spring Awakening features direction by Michael Mayer, choreography by Bill T. Jones, book and lyrics by Steven Sater and a score by Duncan Sheik.

Songs featured in the Tony-winning score are "All That's Known," "And Then There Were None," "Blue Wind/Don't Do Sadness," "Left Behind," "Mamma Who Bore Me," "My Junk, "The Bitch of Living," "The Dark I Know Well," "The Guilty Ones," "The Song of Purple Summer," "The Word of Your Body," "Those You've Known," "Totally Fucked," "Touch Me," "Whispering" and "The Mirror-Blue Night."

Spring Awakening's cast album earned a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

The musical made its world premiere Off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theater Company in June 2006. Spring Awakening transferred to Broadway the following November, where it continues to play at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.
