News Sørensen and McDowall to Join West End Company of Chicago Feb. 25
Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, who played Roxie Hart in the Copenhagen production of Chicago last year, will take over that same role in the West End production at the Cambridge Theatre on Feb. 25.

Sørensen's other credits include Danish productions of The Winter's Tale and Cabaret. She will be joined by Rachel McDowall, taking over on the same day as Velma Kelly. McDowell previously starred as Ulla in the West End production of The Producers and will shortly be seen playing Lisa in the film of "Mamma Mia!" Sørensen is not the only Swedish actress in the West End at the moment. Nina Söderquist, who won a Swedish reality TV program to star in Monty Python's Spamalot in London, took over as the Lady of the Lake on Feb. 11.

Chicago continues to feature Terence Maynard as Billy Flynn, Paul Rider as Amos Hart, Zee Asha as Mama Morton and MM Dugdale as Mary Sunshine.

Chicago plays the Cambridge Theatre. For tickets call the box office at 0844 412 4652. For more details go to www.chicagothemusical.co.uk.
