News Stage Musical Adaptation of "August Rush" in Development Original Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark book writer Glen Berger is collaborating with Grammy Award-winning composer Mark Mancina on a stage musical adaptation of the 2007 film "August Rush."

Mancina penned the orchestral score to the film that tells the story of an orphaned musical prodigy who ventures to New York in the hopes that his musical talents will help him find his birth parents.

The composer was also Tony Award-nominated for his work as a co-writer, producer and arranger for the score of the Tony Award-winning Disney musical The Lion King.

Emmy Award winner Berger, who is penning the book for the musical, is the playwright of Underneath the Lintel and collaborated with Tony Award winner Taymor on the original book to the Broadway musical Spider-Man.

The musical adaptation of "August Rush" is being developed with Warner Brothers along with CJ Entertainment and producer Richard B. Lewis.
