What show recently impressed you?
Last week was Andrew Lloyd Webber-palooza for me. I saw JC Superstar and Evita. I had never actually seen a production of Superstar before (bad gay!). The production was lavish and moving, and the cast was killing it! Who knew they could dance like that in Judea? Evita was terrific and thrilling, too. What impressed me most about both productions was the music. I love those huge sweeping, epic rock 'n' roll-influenced scores. It seems Andrew Lloyd Webber became a bit of a punchline in the past several years, which is silly when you consider his body of work. But then again, I wore a Phantom of the Opera t-shirt for my 8th grade yearbook photo…..cause it was cool.

What production are you most excited to see?
I'm one of those folks that just wants to see everything. I am excited for Peter and the Starcatcher, talk about a talented cast. I'm dying to see Newsies…. I'm ashamed to say I still haven't seen Priscilla or Mary Poppins for that matter (BAD GAY!) and Cyndi Lauper scoring Kinky Boots, yes, please. Basically, if you're reading this and you have a spare theatre ticket, call me. I'm a terrific date.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
In a fantasy world I think it's about time we get Dreamgirls back on the boards starring me as Effie White. But more realistically, I just want to go back in time so I can fulfill my childhood dream of a lifetime in Les Miserables…I'll start out as Gavroche til I grow into Enjolras and naturally assume Javert when the grey starts to show. I used to sing the whole of "Javert's Suicide" on the high dive at the local pool before jumping off...I’m beginning to wonder if this may not be the sophisticated sort of answer you were looking for…

What are your current/upcoming projects?
We just moved Broadway Sessions to The Laurie Beechman Theater. We're having a ball; after three-and-a-half years of doing the show every week, it feels like we're finally home. Continuing to host Mostly Sondheim at The Duplex (we just got our second MAC nomination, which is cool). I'll be doing some work with The Broadway Dreams Foundation and am writing and directing a few upcoming solo shows in the next couple months. Living the dream baby!
