Here, via email, we hear from singing actress Molly Pope, who is currently starring in the world premiere of the new musical Found for the Atlantic Theater Company.

What show recently impressed you?
Bridget Everett's Rock Bottom at the Public. Not for the faint of heart, in the greatest possible way. She's a legend. She's never not impressive. Double negative intended.

What production are you most excited to see?
Side Show. I've never seen a production of it, but I once played Daisy at a community theatre. I was…an unusual fit. And now to see it ferociously realized on Broadway? Yes. Based on the press photos, that opening number is going to be insane.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Mame. Mame. With Angela Lansbury as Mother Burnside, Natalie Joy Johnson as Vera and Cole Escola as both Young and Older Patrick. Jerry Herman deserves a huge renaissance. His music is sheer joy to me.

What are your current/upcoming projects?
Currently Found-ing with Atlantic Theater. Also working on The Universe Is a Small Hat, an immersive participatory musical, throughout the fall (theuniverseisasmallhat.com), then in February comes Horseplay, or the Fickle Mistress with Everett Quinton and Theatre Askew at the Ellen Stewart (La Mama E.t.c.). I'll be playing the titular mistress, Adah Isaacs Menken, upon whose crazy life the show is based. Somewhere in there I'll find an excuse to do a few solo Molly Pope shows too!
