Here, via email, we hear from actor Joey Oglesby, who was seen in the second season of "Friday Night Lights" and is now appearing in the one-acts Lone Star and Laundry & Bourbon, which mark the New York debut of the acclaimed regional company Contemporary Theater of Dallas, July 5-26 at The Clurman Theatre.

What show recently impressed you?
Well, since I am based out of Los Angeles, I haven't seen much in New York recently, but I was in Dallas this spring shooting a pilot and got to catch the world premier of Fortress of Solitude by Itamar Moses with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman at Dallas Theatre Center. It is a co-pro with the Public and set for its world premiere in New York in late September. It's a really inventive coming-of-age musical that delves into a lot of social issues while delivering dynamic performances. The music is incredible, and the lead, Kyle Beltran, is remarkable.

What production are you most excited to see?
Being fascinated with 1960's politics and the Civil Rights Movement, I had hoped to see All The Way, but it looks like I will just miss it. But I am so excited to see This is Our Youth. It is such a great script, and I am a huge Michael Cera fan. I think he is a comedic genius and am really excited to see him on stage. Hope to catch Of Mice and Men as well. I would love to play Lennie Small.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
I know there have been some rumblings of this coming to Broadway, and following Matthew McConaughey would be daunting to say the least, but I would love to play Joe Cooper in Killer Joe. I am a huge Tracy Letts fan, and I want to tackle this role soon. I have spent different parts of my life in the types of areas and with the type of people Killer Joe explores and would love to delve deep into the mind of this white trash American Psycho.

What are your current/upcoming projects?
I just filmed a pilot for NBC called "Salvation," and a movie I shot last year, "Walking With the Dead," will release this next year as well as an improv/prank show of which I am a cast member. I also have really enjoyed getting back on stage after many years focusing on TV/Film/Commercial work, so I am hoping to be able to integrate more stage time back into my schedule.
