What show recently impressed you?
I saw Death of a Salesman and was blown away. So heartbreaking, so deeply moving, and I was in awe of the commitment of every member of the cast, from Philip Seymour Hoffman on down.
What production are you most excited to see?
I just bought tickets to see Cate Blanchett's Uncle Vanya at City Center. I love Chekhov, and to have the opportunity to see a production of this caliber is thrilling. And my buddy Matt Bogart is playing James Joyce in the NYMF show Himself and Nora, so I'd love to see that.
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Jamie in The Last 5 Years — does Off-Broadway count? But I hear Mr. J.R. Brown is already getting that one going... And, I missed Hugh Jackman in The Boy From Oz, so if he wouldn't mind starring in a revival of that, I'd appreciate it. Thanks Hugh.
What are your current/upcoming projects?
Other than Flambe Dreams? I recorded an album that is in the final stages of editing, and I'm planning to perform a release concert sometime in the late summer/early fall in addition to the concert dates I currently have booked in the fall in the NYC area. I am also part of The Doo Wop Project — a group that includes some current and former castmates from Jersey Boys — and we have a slew of shows coming up in the summer and fall as well (check jarrodspector.com or follow me on twitter @jarrodspector for details!). And, of course, I'm only on a leave of absence from Jersey Boys for a few months, so I'll be back playing Frankie Valli at the August Wilson in October.
