Here, via email, we hear from singing actress Cortney Wolfson, who recently stepped into the role of Nicola in the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

What show recently impressed you?
I recently saw the FITC (Friends in Theater Company) production of Once On This Island at the Lucille Lortel. It was such a special night — all of the proceeds went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and this year alone, they granted six wishes. My boyfriend, director/choreographer Curtis Holbrook, put together an all-star cast, and the show was just beautiful. I can't wait to see what next year holds for FITC!

What production are you most excited to see?
I'll be at the opening of If/Then and cannot wait! I saw the show in D.C. and loved it, so that's sure to be a great night. I'm also dying to see All The Way. Bryan Cranston making his Broadway debut?!? It's like Christmas.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
I'd love to play Queenie in Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party. It's Off-Broadway life was so short — I'd love to see a production revived on Broadway... That cast album is still my favorite! I'd also love to play Belle in Beauty and the Beast. It closed on Broadway two months after I moved to NYC, and frankly, I just want to be a Disney Princess!

What are your current/upcoming projects?
I recently took over the role of Nicola in Kinky Boots on Broadway. It's a dream show with a dream cast, so that's keeping me very busy at the moment! I also just shot a musical episode for a new series called "IAN." It's produced by a company called Stage 17 — their roster includes original, scripted, and reality entertainment created by Broadway folk exclusively for the internet. Keep your eyes peeled for the series premiere in March! www.stage17.tv
