Here, via email, we hear from Broadway singing actress Loretta Ables Sayre, a Tony nominee for her performance as Bloody Mary in the Lincoln Center Theater revival of South Pacific. She will repeat that role in the Paper Mill Playhouse's upcoming production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, which begins previews at the New Jersey venue April 9.

What show recently impressed you?
I just saw The Bridges of Madison County, and I think it is one of the most beautiful musicals that I have seen in years. I was trying not to sob out loud by the end of it. Kelli O'Hara and Steven Pasquale were perfection and sounded absolutely glorious. Bart Sher's direction was simple and magical. This show just took my breath away.

What production are you most excited to see?
Cabaret. Danny Burstein is brilliance personified. I would buy a ticket to watch him shuffle a deck of cards.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
The King and I. And, I would give my eyeteeth to be able to play Lady Thiang. Or Cassie in A Chorus Line, except I can't dance.

What are your current/upcoming projects?
I have just filmed a movie with Henry Ian Cusick called "dress," and I have been given the opportunity once again to portray Bloody Mary in Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific at the Paper Mill Playhouse.
