Here, via email, we hear from actor Chandler Williams, who currently stars in the Roundabout Theatre Company's critically acclaimed revival of The Winslow Boy at the American Airlines Theatre.
What show recently impressed you?
This is a bit behind the times, but...I missed the first cast of Tribes while I was at the Old Vic doing Richard III; I did, however, catch the second cast during the tail-end of its run. My pal Nick Westrate and the entire cast absolutely took my breath away.
What production are you most excited to see?
Phyllida Lloyd's Julius Caesar with Harriet Walter. I just hope they don't make a habit of this all-female thing...I want to work with both of them again!
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Being from New England, I have an unhealthy fixation on all things O'Neill. I'm hellbent on doing any role I'm able for in his canon. I especially want to tackle Beyond the Horizon. Also, Mourning Becomes Electra with Janet McTeer - can I possibly be the only one who's thought of this?! And, obviously, I have a dream cast in mind for the next Long Day’s Journey into Night, in which I have a part...
What are your current/upcoming projects?
The answer to that is ever-changing, but I'm about to begin rehearsals for a long obsession of mine: Edmund in King Lear. Arin Arbus is the director. Michael Pennington is Lear. 2014...I can't wait!
