What show recently impressed you?
Lately, I have to content myself with plays... There are so few new musicals that my heart breaks... The physical comedy in One Man, Two Guvnors was pretty miraculous.
What production are you most excited to see?
Think I gotta see Tracie Bennett, don't you?
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
What I would like is a great, original show... I started out doing revivals, which was wonderful as I worked with the original creators and producers.....Herman Levin, the original producer of My Fair Lady, ...Richard Rodgers, Billy Hammerstein and Agnes de Mille re-created my Oklahoma!, and George Abbott at 96 directed On Your Toes... It would be my wish to continue and end my career creating something new for the musical theatre...
What are your current/upcoming projects?
After my beautiful introduction to Colette here at the York, I'll be in concert at the 92nd Street Y in June... Working at the O'Neill in the summer, a little stint at the new club 54 Below in October, and music-making around the country and world finishes off my year...
