News Star of Broadway's Jesus Christ Superstar to Lead Cast of U.K. Tour Glenn Carter, who played the the title role in the 2000 Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Superstar that he had previously played in the West End, is to return to the role for a new U.K. touring production that begins performances at Bromley's Churchill Theatre in South East London Jan. 21, 2015, ahead of an extensive tour.

Also in the cast are recording star Rhydian Roberts as Pontius Pilate, Tim Rogers as Judas Iscariot and "X Factor" finalist Rachel Adedeji as Mary Magdalene.

Carter's other stage credits include Whistle Down the Wind and Les Miserables in the West End and the title role in Floyd Collins at London's Southwark Playhouse.

Roberts was a runner-up in TV's "The X Factor" in 2007. He has since established himself as a double platinum recording artist, with his latest album "One Day Like This" reaching number 1 in the Classical Charts this year. He has appeared onstage in The Rocky Horror Show, Grease and We Will Rock You.

Rogers has appeared in the West End and on tour in Whistle Down the Wind, West Side Story, Jersey Boys, The Full Monty and Aspects of Love. He was last seen on stage in Carousel at the Arcola Theatre.

Adedeji, who was a finalist on TV's "The X Factor," has appeared in the U.K. and European tours of Thriller Live. The cast also includes David Burilin and Cavin Cornwall. Further casting is to be announced.

Jesus Christ Superstar is co-directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright and choreographed by Carole Todd. Designs are by Paul Farnsworth, with lighting by Nick Richings and sound by Dan Samson.
