In celebration of its upcoming bicentennial, the State of Illinois is giving away 200 tickets to Hamilton in Chicago. One-hundred winners, made up of high school and college students, will be awarded a pair of tickets to the December 3 matinee performance of the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical.

Illinois high school and college students across the state are invited to submit a 45 to 60 second self-made video highlighting a fact, event, place, person or something drawn from the history of Illinois.

All contestants must end their video with the line: “My name is _______ and I am Illinois proud.”

December 3 will mark the official start of Illinois' bicentennial celebration, a year-long roster of festivities commemorating the state’s 200th birthday.

The current cast of Hamilton in Chicago includes Ari Afsar as Eliza Hamilton, Daniel Breaker as Aaron Burr, Miguel Cervantes as Alexander Hamilton, Karen Olivo as Angelica Schuyler, Alexander Gemignani as King George, Jonathan Kirkland as George Washington, Chris De’Sean Lee as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Samantha Marie Ware as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, José Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton, Wallace Smith as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison, and Joseph Morales as the Hamilton alternate.

As previously reported, Breaker will take on the role of Burr at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre beginning August 29, succeeding Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon. Montego Glover will assume the role of Angelica Schuyler from Tony winner Olivo in Chicago early September.
