Presented by the New Group and directed by Scott Elliott, the production also features Jack DiFalco, Bradley Fong, Paul Iacono, Peter Mark Kendall, Emily Cass McDonnell, Sea McHale and Zane Pais.
The limited run is scheduled through Sept. 27.
The play follows two brothers who are setting up for a mysterious "party" set in an abandoned, run-down apartment. Their conversations offer glimpses into the outside world: warring gangs and a hallucinogenic-drug epidemic. "As the teenage brothers prepare for the latest festivities, some unexpected guests threaten the balance of the world they have created in the midst of this dystopian nightmare," state press notes.
Mercury Fur premiered in 2005 at the Plymouth Theatre Royal in the U.K. and transferred to the Menier Chocolate Factory, London the same year.
This production marks Ridley's return to The New Group, where his play The Fastest Clock in the Universe got its U.S. premiere in 1998.
The design team for Mercury Fur includes Derek McLane (scenic design), Susan Hilferty (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), M.L. Dogg (sound design), Jeremy Chernick (special effects design) and UnkleDave’s Fight-House (fight direction).
