News Stephanie J. Block Will Play Birdland in July Stephanie J. Block, a 2013 Tony nominee for her performance in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, will go it solo at Birdland next month.

The acclaimed singing actress will play the famed jazz venue July 7 at 6 PM and July 8 at 7 PM.

Block has also been seen on Broadway as Reno Sweeney in the 2011 Tony Award-winning revival of Anything Goes, Judy Bernly (Drama Desk nomination) in 9 to 5: The Musical, Grace O'Malley in The Pirate Queen and Liza Minnelli in The Boy From Oz (opposite Hugh Jackman). She may be best known for her portrayal of Elphaba in the Broadway production and first national tour of Wicked. Block will co-star with Will Chase in Second Stage Theater’s upcoming production of Little Miss Sunshine.

There is a $30-$40 cover charge plus a $10 minimum.
