Colbert, who recently revealed his theatrical flair in a Dec. 14 interview with composer Stephen Sondheim, will test his skills as a dramatic actor in the three-person drama about an extramarital affair.

Joining "The Colbert Report" host will be his wife, Evelyn McGee-Colbert ("Strangers With Candy") and Jay O. Sanders (That Hopey Changey Thing). James Glossman will direct the 7 PM reading.

According to Luna Stage, "[Betrayal] follows the seven-year affair involving a married couple, Emma and Robert, and Robert’s close friend Jerry, who is also married. It’s one of mankind’s oldest stories, but told through an innovative reverse-chronology structure, moving backwards in time from 1977 to Jerry’s first drunken declaration of his feelings for Emma in 1968 – always letting the audience draw its own conclusions about ethics and morality."

For tickets, priced $100, visit LunaStage.

Betrayals will be presented at Luna Stage, located at 555 Valley Road, West Orange, NJ.
