PlayBlog Stephen Schwartz Performs "For Good" (Video) Stephen Schwartz, composer of the Tony-nominated musical Wicked, talks about the origin of "For Good" from the hit musical and follows with a solo performance.

The song, which has recently been seen on Fox's "Glee" as well as in the second part of Oprah's surprise farewell, was created with the help of Schwartz's daughter, Jessica. Jessica provided the inspiration for what Schwartz calls the "key" element to Wicked.

Jessica told her father about her relationship with one of her best friends. She talked about everything she would say to her best friend given one last chance to talk to her. This conversation provided the songwriter with a model for Glinda and Elphaba's duet at the end of the musical.
