Lincoln Center will honor Stephen Sondheim in a June 19 concert benefit from American Songbook Gala. Directed by Lonny Price (Sunset Boulevard , Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along ), the evening will feature performances by Kate Baldwin , Petula Clark, Donna Murphy , and Ashley Park, with music direction by Paul Gemignani.
Staged at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tulley Hall, the performance, titled Beautiful Girls: A Musical Tribute , showcases Sondheim songs that examine women’s stories. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Lincoln Center’s education and community initiatives and other performance series.
The gala is presented by co-chairs Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller, Bryan Lourd and Bruce Bozzi, and Adrienne Arsht.
