The inevitable Stephen Sondheim auction is finally upon us. Doyle Auctions will put more than 200 lots of items from the personal collection of the late Broadway composer-lyricist up for live auction June 18 at 10 AM ET.

Items up for sale include memorabilia from Sondheim's shows, antique puzzles from his personal collection, furniture, and other personal effects from his Manhattan townhouse and Connecticut home.

The collection will be on display at Doyle's Manhattan showroom on East 87th Street June 14–17, and a digital catalogue of the lots will be released May 20.

Among the highlights being showcased by Doyle currently are a framed gold record of the West Side Story soundtrack, two customized Sweeney Todd coats, Sondheim's Golden Plate Award, and several antique games. See more at Doyle.com.

Sondheim, who passed away in 2021, was a true Broadway legend, credited by many with changing the face of musical theatre. He started his career penning lyrics to West Side Story and Gypsy, next moving on to a string of scores as a composer and lyricist, including Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Pacific Overtures, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park With George, Into the Woods, Passion, and Assassins. Over his career, he won seven Tony Awards and received an eighth for lifetime achievement; eight Grammys; an Academy Award; and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
