The Steppenwolf Theatre Company of Chicago is talking to Pulitzer Prize winning author Michael Chabon about bringing his short story "The God of Dark Laughter" to the stage. The company is also considering a film deal for the same title. Chabon won his Pulitzer last year for "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay," and is currently adapting that work for the screen. Another Chabon novel, "Wonder Boys," was made into a celebrate 2001 movie starring Michael Douglas.
There was no word on when "Dark Laughter" would reach Steppenwolf's stage or which members of the theatre's famous ensemble would be involved.
