The event will feature a behind-the-scene glimpse at the film, as well as a conversation with Lewis, Martindale and Nicholson that will be moderated by playwright and Steppenwolf ensemble member Tracy Letts.

August: Osage County premiered at Steppenwolf before moving to Broadway, where it won six Tony Awards, including Best Play. The darkly comic drama about a dysfunctional family, with three sisters and a pill-addicted mother, is set in a house in Oklahoma. The film adaptation stars Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Sam Shepard (Heartless), Ewan McGregor (West End's Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs, "Moulin Rouge"), Olivier Award winner Benedict Cumberbatch (Frankenstein, "Sherlock"), Oscar winner Chris Cooper ("Adaptation"), Dermot Mulroney ("My Best Friend's Wedding") and Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin (The Miracle Worker, "Little Miss Sunshine").

A two-time Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner, Letts' work includes Killer Joe, Bug, Man from Nebraska and Superior Donuts. His stage credits include Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Lewis' film work includes "Husband and Wives," "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and "Natural Born Killers." Martindale's stage credits include Steel Magnolias and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and her film work includes "Beautiful Creatures" and "Million Dollar Baby." Nicholson's stage work includes Heartless, This and Adam Rapp's Hallway trilogy, and her film credits include "Tully" and "Shadows & Lies."

The event raises funds for Steppenwolf’s professional development programs, including Steppenwolf for Young Adults and the School at Steppenwolf, as well as the Professional Leadership Programs, providing apprenticeships, fellowships and internships for the next generation of arts managers and producers. Previous honorees include ensemble members Joan Allen and Martha Plimpton, Julianna Margulies and Mary-Louise Parker.
