News Sternhagen to Read Linney's Tennessee May 23 in Salem Tony Award-winning actress Frances Sternhagen (Seascape, Steel Magnolias, "Sex and the City") will read Romulus Linney's Tennessee as a benefit for the Salem Theatre Company May 23.

The one-night-only reading of the play will also feature Salem Theatre Company artistic director John Fogle. Show time is 5 PM.

The 1870-set work dramatizes the story of a frontier family struggling to carve a life out of their small farm. A strange old woman, who claims to have spent her youth on the farm, appears and tells the family of her early days as past and present collide.

The adapted reading will take place at the STC Theater, located at 90 Lafayette Street in Salem, MA. For tickets, priced $75, visit SalemTheatre.
