News Steven Berkoff to Stage Premiere of His Play 6 Actors in Search of a Director at Charing Cross Theatre Steven Berkoff will direct the world premiere of his latest play, 6 Actors in Search of a Director, at London's Charing Cross Theatre, beginning performances May 16 prior to an official opening May 23, for a run through June 23.

It is described in press materials as a "comedy set on a movie location set. Six actors are on a movie set waiting for their call. Until then they are in limbo needing the director to bring them to life. He does this merely by using the one magic word - 'Action!'" Berkoff has based the play on his own expereinces of shooting more than 50 films, including playing villains in the Hollywood features "Beverley Hills Cop" and "Rambo." His original plays include East, Decadence, The Secret Love Life Of Ophelia, Massage, Acapulco, Brighton Beach Scumbags, Kvetch and Sit And Shiver

The cast comprises Andree Bernard, Sarah Chamberlain, Ruth Everett, Neil Stuke, Paul Trussell and Philip Voss. The production is designed by Nigel Hook, with lighting by Mike Robertson, and is produced by Steven M. Levy and Vaughan Williams.
