The Huntington Theatre has announced full casting and creative team for its production of Stefano Massini's Tony-winning play The Lehman Trilogy, which ran on Broadway last year. Carey Perloff is at the helm of the the production, which will run at the Boston theatre June 13-July 16.
The cast includes Firdous Bamji as Mayer Lehman, Joshua David Robinson as Emanuel Lehman, Steven Skybell as Henry Lehman, and Joe LaRocca as the Musician. Kadahj Bennett, Matthew Bretschneider, Todd Brunel, and Scott Wentworth will serve as understudies.
The creative team features scenic design by Sara Brown, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Robert Wierzel, sound design and music composition by Mark Bennett, additional sound design by Charles Coes, projection design by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew, and movement consulting by Misha Shields. Avital Shira serves as assistant director, and Lee Nishri-Howitt as the production's voice coach. Julie Felise Dubiner is dramaturg. The production stage manager is Emily F. McMullen, and the stage manager is Lucas Bryce Dixon.
Written by Stefano Massini and adapted by Ben Power, The Lehman Trilogy weaves nearly two centuries of family history to chart the humble beginnings, outrageous successes, and devastating failure of the financial institution that would ultimately bring the global economy to its knees. A novelization was published in June 2020.
The recent Broadway staging followed its English premiere at London’s National Theatre in 2018, a North American debut at the Park Avenue Armory in 2019, and a subsequent West End engagement.
The Huntington's has 2022-2023 season is the first season led by Artistic Director Loretta Greco, who is the first woman to hold the position at the Boston theatre.
