News Stew and Rodewald Are Making It at St. Ann's Warehouse Feb. 17-22 Making It, the new multimedia rock-theatre event from Passing Strange creators Stew and Heidi Rodewald, begins performances at St. Ann's Warehouse Feb. 17.

St. Ann's commissioned Tony winner Stew and longtime collaborator Rodewald to create the piece that utilizes song, text and video to tell their artistic evolution.

According to St. Ann's, the work "traces the unlikely careers of Stew and Heidi from the dive rock clubs of Hollywood to the footlights of Broadway — with Stew as the guide. Stew and Heidi's latest musical journey traces their careers from under the radar into the mainstream, mass media spotlight of Broadway, accompanied by six multi-instrumentalists led by Stew, interweaving their personal narratives on what happened to them along the way of Making It."

The duo made their Broadway premiere with the 2008 production of Passing Strange. That work was a semi-autobiographical journey of Stew's life. Stew and Rodewald penned the music. Stew earned a Tony Award for the book.
