CIBC Oppenheimer and Newcourt Credit Group are each contributing $150,000 for a total of $300,000 toward the festival's City Centre engagement in New York City in November.

The Stratford Festival has just announced the largest single-year sponsorship in the 45-year history of the festival. CIBC Oppenheimer and Newcourt Credit Group are each contributing $150,000 for a total of $300,000 toward the festival's City Centre engagement in New York City in November. That means that the two productions scheduled to play in New York (Moliere's The Miser and Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing), can now go ahead full steam. And that's another feather in the cap of artistic director Richard Monette, part of whose mandate for running the Festival is to give it a higher profile internationally.
