Directed and choreographed by Donna Feore with musical direction by Laura Burton, the limited engagement will continue through Oct. 30.
Feore, according to press notes, will reimagine "this legendary musical for its first major production on a thrust stage."
"I'm thrilled that the Stratford Festival and Donna Feore are bringing a new production of A Chorus Line to Canada," said John Breglio, the producer and lawyer who controls the rights to the musical, in a statement. "Along with a stellar cast, Donna will bring her own perspective and artistry to this landmark musical. I think Stratford audiences will be treated to a unique and truly extraordinary experience."
The cast will comprise Dayna Tietzen as Cassie, Juan Chioran as Zach, Eric Abel, Matt Alfano as Mike, Gabriel Antonacci as Al, Matthew Armet as Greg, Ashley Arnett as Bebe, Alex Black, Stephen Cota as Larry, Colton Curtis as Mark, JJ Gerber, Alexandra Herzog as Kristine, Galen Johnson, Bonnie Jordan as Judy, Bethany Kovarik, Ayrin Mackie as Sheila, Chad McFadden as Don, Melanie McInenly as Tricia, Julia McLellan as Val, Nicholas Nesbitt as Bobby, Matt Nethersole as Richie, Cory O’Brien as Roy, Jennifer Rider-Shaw as Maggie, Conor Scully as Paul, Genny Sermonia as Connie, Jason Sermonia, Cynthia Smithers as Diana and Kimberly-Ann Truong.
Conceived and originally directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett, A Chorus Line features a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. It was co-choreographed by Bob Avian.
