News Streep and Pacino Win SAG Awards for "Angels in America" Meryl Streep and Al Pacino won prizes for their performances in the Mike Nicholas-directed HBO movie of Tony Kushner's "Angels in America," at the 10th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, held Feb. 22 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.

"Angels" had received six nominations in total, including nods for actors Justin Kirk, Mary-Louise Parker, Emma Thompson and Jeffrey Wright. Pacino won for his portrayal of villainous lawyer Roy Cohn, while Streep was honored for playing Mormon mother Hanna Pitt, the ghost of Ethel Rosenberg, and other characters. Other theatre-bred actors who prevailed at the podium: Frances Conroy (for "Six Feet Under"), Tony Shalhoub (for "Monk") and Megan Mullally (for "Will & Grace").
