News Striking 12 to Offer Post-Show Mini-Concert Dec. 31 The New Year's Eve performance of Off-Broadway's Striking 12 — a show with a Dec. 31 setting — will end the musical's limited engagement in style: A 10 PM performance followed by a mini-concert featuring GrooveLily.

The indie pop-rock trio GrooveLily stars in the critically acclaimed hybrid concert/musical at the Daryl Roth Theatre off Union Square. The band "will usher in 2007 with a special mini-concert and New Year's party following the final performance," the producers announced. After the concert, around 11:50 PM, patrons can shuffle to a post-show party and New Year's countdown in the D-Lounge, located on the lower level of the Daryl Roth Theatre. (It's a cash bar.)

Tickets for the final performance of Striking 12 are $100 each and are available by calling Telecharge.com at (212) 239-6200.

Striking 12 is currently enjoying a celebrated eight-week limited holiday engagement at the Daryl Roth Theatre, 101 E. 15th St.

According to the producers, "Striking 12 is the story of a Grumpy Guy who decides to avoid the hectic, loveless world on New Year's Eve, until he's visited by an incandescent salesgirl with the promise to chase away his winter doldrums. Combining pop-rock, musical comedy and old-fashioned uplift with a healthy dose of 21st-century skepticism, this festive tale will ignite the holiday spirit and illuminate the coming season with an electrifying, rockin' performance that cannot be matched."

Directed by Tony Award winner Ted Sperling (The Light in the Piazza), Striking 12 is written by Brendan Milburn (book, music and lyrics), Tony Award winner Rachel Sheinkin (book and lyrics) and Valerie Vigoda (book, music and lyrics). The New York City trio GrooveLily features band members Gene Lewin (drums/vocals), Brendan Milburn (keyboards/ vocals) and Valerie Vigoda (electric violin/vocals).

Vigoda and Milburn are the winners of a 2006 Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Award for Excellence in Writing for the Theater.

The Off-Broadway premiere of Striking 12 features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Jennifer Caprio, lighting design by Michael Gilliam and sound design by Rob Killenberger. It is produced by Nancy Nagel Gibbs and Greg Schaffert, in association with Mark Johannes and Amy Danis. The cast recording of Striking 12 was released in 2004 on the PS Classics label at www.psclassics.com. It was recorded before an audience in a benefit for the Melting Pot Theatre Company.

Striking 12 plays Thursday evening at 10 PM, Friday evening at 8 PM, Saturdays at 4 PM and 8 PM and Sunday at 6 PM and 10 PM.

Get tickets via Telecharge.com or ay (212) 239-6200, or in-person at the Daryl Roth Theatre.
