Aldon James, president of The National Arts Club, will present Baker with her award at the 6:30 PM by-invitation-only event. Dr. Patrick Suraci will be the evening's Master of Ceremonies. Guest speakers will include Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress Elaine Stritch, Tony and Emmy-nominated actress Anne Jackson, film critic Rex Reed, Oscar and Tony-winning actress Mercedes Ruehl, Tony-winning actress Marian Seldes and Tony Award-winning actor Eli Wallach.
Author Foster Hirsch will screen clips from Baker's performances.
Carroll Baker has been seen on Broadway in Come on Strong, All Summer Long and Escapade and on screen in "Baby Doll" (Oscar nomination), "Giant," "How the West Was Won," "The Carpetbaggers," "Harlow," "Star 80," "Ironweed" and "Kindergarten Cop," among others.
Previous honorees include Arthur Penn, Cliff Robertson, Sylvia Sydney, Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee, Whoopi Goldberg, Richard Dreyfuss, Danny Aiello, Lynn Redgrave, Olympia Dukakis and Norman Jewison.
