Inspired by Stroili's life, Straight Up with a Twist "takes a look at one family, as they try to figure out a straight guy who says: 'Don't call my house during the football game…that's when I vacuum!"' In the production, "Stroili portrays his Bronx-born mother, his Italian father, his Goombah brother, and a host of other characters who struggle to understand a straight guy who 'can't work power tools, but can perfectly fold a fitted sheet,'" according to press notes. Bill Penton directs the production, which began previews Jan. 17. Straight Up with a Twist is produced by David and Hyra George (Millrock). The production was previously filmed for a one-hour television comedy special.
