Airing Dec. 5 on NBC at 8 PM, the three-hour production is based on the original 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway musical, which starred Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel. The 22-track album features studio recordings of all the musical numbers performed in the live broadcast.

Read the Playbill.com feature where creative team and cast members from The Sound of Music Live! share their "Favorite Things" from the beloved musical.

Audiences familiar with the original 1959 Broadway stage production will note the inclusion of "How Can Love Survive?" and "No Way to Stop It" (for the characters of Elsa, Max and Capt. Von Trapp), which were not used for the 1965 film adaptation. The track list does show that the Maria and Capt. Von Trapp film duet "Something Good," which replaced "An Ordinary Couple" from the stage version, will be used for the upcoming broadcast. Maria's solo "I Have Confidence" is not included.

Six-time Grammy Award winner Underwood stars as Maria with Stephen Moyer as World War I hero Capt. Georg Von Trapp. The cast also boasts five-time Tony winner McDonald as Mother Abbess, Tony winner Laura Benanti as Elsa Schrader, Tony winner Christian Borle as Max Dettweiler and Tony nominee Christiane Noll as Sister Margaretta.
