Philadelphia, PA's Walnut Street Theatre has announced that Will Stutts will become the new director of the Walnut Street Theatre School, beginning his tenure Nov. 1, 1998. Stutts replaces William Roudebush, who is leaving the position after four years to pursue other opportunities. Stutts is well known to the Philadelphia theatre community as an actor, playwright, and director. This season, Stutts will perform his Holiday Memories with Will Stutts at The Walnut's Studio space, as well as presenting the world premiere of Stutts' latest, Oscar Wilde's Lover, also at the Studio.
Other Stutts shows at the Walnut have included Noel Coward at the Cafe de Paris, Frank Lloyd Wright, Walt Whitman, The Gift, and Will Stutts' Tallulah! - for which Stutts donned drag to portray his late real life cousin.
