After navigating at The Procopio Ferreira Theatre in Sao Paulo from October 1997 to February 1998, Submarine (Submarino) a comedy by Miguel Falabella and Maria Carmen Barbosa anchors at The Miguel Falabella Theatre on March 20 in Rio de Janeiro.

The couple have already brought to the stage the comedy hits White Male Seeks ( Louro Alto Solteiro Procura..) and Evangelina ( Todo Mundo Sabe que Todo Mundo Sabe...). Like in Sao Paulo, Submarine is directed by Mauro Mendonca Filho and stars Miguel Falabella and Zeze Polessa.

Falabella, known for his graceful, sophisticated style and sense of humor, explains that Submarine has a satirical context about marriages, and adds "marriage is like a Submarine, sometimes they float but they were made to sink . . ."

The comedy tells the story of Cesar (Falabella), a materialistic and ambitious businessman, and his wife Rita (Zeze Polessa), a sweet dreamer of a librarian, showing the funnier aspects of their home life, their loneliness and the stresses of existence in large cities.

Performances are from Thursdays to Saturdays, 9 PM; Sundays, 8 PM. Tickets cost R$20,00-R$25,00. For more information call 021 595 8245 at The Miguel Falabella Theatre in Rio de Janeiro. --By Nertutila Achao
