Campbell will play John in Mamet's two-hander opposite the Carol of Raleigh native Meredith Jones. Oleanna, which is part of the theatre's "Hot Summer Nights at the Kennedy" series, will run Aug. 2-13.

"It’s a game of 'He Said. She Said," reads Oleanna production notes, "when Carol (Jones), a struggling student visits the office of John (Campbell), her professor for help. The seemingly harmless encounter quickly turns sour. From relatively trivial beginnings, a struggle of power, spin and manipulation develops between both characters."

Alan Campbell, most recently on Broadway in the Tony-winning dance musical Contact, portrayed Joe Gillis in the Los Angeles and Broadway productions of Sunset Boulevard, earning a Tony nomination for his work in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Campbell has been seen Off Broadway in Avow and Boogie Woogie, and his screen credits include "Jake and the Fatman," "Three's a Crowd," "Another World," "Matlock" and "Homicide."

The Kennedy Theatre is located in the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, NC. Tickets are available by calling (919) 834-4000 or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.
