Susan Egan, who originated the role of Belle in the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast, will star in a concert version of High Button Shoes this May in California.

Part of the Rubicon Theater Company's "Lost and Found Concert Series," which presents concerts of rediscovered musicals from Broadway as well as revues of works by outstanding composers and lyricists, High Button Shoes begins performances on May 24 and runs through June 10. Featuring a score by Jule Styne (music) and Sammy Cahn (lyrics) and a book by Stephen Longstreet, the concert will be directed by Bonnie Hellman.

High Button Shoes opened on Broadway in October 1947 and featured such tunes as "I Still Get Jealous" and "Papa, Won’t You Dance With Me." No other casting has been announced.

Egan received Tony and Drama Desk award nominations for her work in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and her other theatre credits include Cabaret, Triumph of Love, Putting It Together and Hello Again. She recently released her first solo recording, "So Far," which includes a host of Broadway favorites.
