Susan Egan, who received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for creating the role of Belle in the original Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast, will return to the career-defining part this summer for 5-Star Theatricals (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre) in California.

Directed by Yvette Lawrence with musical direction by Dan Redfeld and choreography by Cheryl Baxter, performances are scheduled for July 20–29 at the Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Beauty and the Beast, which opened on Broadway in 1994, features music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, with additional lyrics by Tim Rice. The book is written by Linda Woolverton.
Egan has also been seen on Broadway in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cabaret, Triumph of Love, and State Fair. Regionally, she starred alongside Carol Burnett in Putting It Together and Tommy Tune in the national tour of Bye, Bye, Birdie.
