Tony winners Sutton Foster (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Anything Goes, Violet) and Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me, Kate; Ragtime; Man of La Mancha) will perform at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida, October 7.
The 8 PM performance at Steinmetz Hall is titled Broadway Royalty and will also feature London's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Foster and Mitchell will perform tunes from their Broadway outings and other standards.
The evening is part of the Center's Residency Festival, a six-night crossover music experience featuring the return of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Edwin Outwater.
The Royal Philharmonic performances will also feature collaborations with the Birmingham Royal Ballet (October 3), Beck (October 4), Harry Connick Jr. (October 5), Diana Ross (October 6), and The Bach Festival Choir (October 8).
“Creating and producing this festival is another way to globally expand our vision of Arts for Every Life,” says Kathy Ramsberger, president and CEO of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. “Pairing one of the world’s greatest orchestras with popular artists, this festival gives Orlando’s visitors and our hometown guests a chance to hear their music in unexpected ways in Steinmetz Hall.”
