Foster, who won Tony Awards for her performances in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Anything Goes, will perform a variety of classic and contemporary Broadway numbers, as well as a selection of her favorite pop tunes.
The Broadway favorite will be joined by former co-stars Colin Donnell and Megan McGinnis. Foster will perform a duet of "Flight" with McGinnis. Foster will also team up with Donnell, who will then solo on “On the Streets of Dublin,” from Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty’s A Man of No Importance.
"It’s been a joy working with The New York Pops and with Steven Reineke, and I’m thrilled to join them in their inaugural season at Forest Hills Stadium," said Tony winner Foster in an earlier statement. "Steven brings an innovative, fun approach to symphonic pops concerts, and I feel lucky to share the stage with him and this brilliant orchestra. The musicians are sensitive and versatile, and the orchestra brings every chart it plays to life. Performing outdoors is such a joy. I can’t wait to sing at Forest Hills Stadium with the great New York Pops!"
"I am so thrilled that our first concert at Forest Hills Stadium will feature Sutton Foster with our fantastic orchestra! Sutton is an incredible singer, a versatile actress, and one heck of a dancer,” added music director Steven Reineke. “She always puts on such a great show, and I know that she and our great orchestra will make our inaugural concert at Forest Hills Stadium a blockbuster."
The New York Pops Summer Series will continue Aug. 7, featuring Pink Martini. Tickets are on sale at foresthillsstadium.com and range from $10-$129. Kids tickets (16 and under) are free with purchase of one adult ticket.
