The Tooting Arts Club’s immersive production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street concludes its record-breaking run Off-Broadway August 26. The show, which began performances in February 2017, is the longest-running musical ever to play the Barrow Street Theatre.

The downtown theatre was completely transformed into a working pie shop for the show, with theatregoers encouraged to dine in the theatre prior to the performance. The production received critical acclaim and was awarded the 2017 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical, the 2017 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical Revival, and the Theater Fans' Choice Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical.

Directed by Bill Buckhurst, Sweeney Todd began previews February 14, 2017, prior to an official opening March 1.

The cast for the final performance is made up of Thom Sesma as Sweeney Todd, Sally Ann Triplett as Mrs. Lovett, Jake Boyd as Anthony, Matt Leisy as The Beadle, Michael James Leslie as Judge Turpin, Betsy Morgan as Pirelli & Beggar Woman, Joseph Taylor as Tobias, and DeLaney Westfall as Johanna. The cast also includes Daniel Berryman, Laura Darrell, Liz Pearce, Danny Rothman, Monet Sabel, Drew Seigla, and Haley Swindal.

Sweeney Todd features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler from an adaptation by Christopher Bond.

The production features set and costume designs by Simon Kenny, music supervision and arrangements by Benjamin Cox, music direction by Matt Aument, choreography by Georgina Lamb, lighting design by Amy Mae, sound design by Matt Stine, casting by Telsey + Company / Cesar A. Rocha, CSA, and production stage management by Joanna Muhlfelder.
