News Sweeney Todd Will Be Broadcast on Radio The classic Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical was seen at the Glimmerglass Festival this past summer.
The Glimmerglass Festival production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Sweeney Todd, which was seen at the New York venue in July and August, will be distributed by the WFMT Radio Network October 29 at 1 PM (ET). More than 300 stations across the country, including WQXR 105.9 FM in New York, will broadcast the production; the musical will also be streamed on the WFMT website.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street was directed by Christopher Alden with music direction by John DeMain.

The company included Greer Grimsley as Sweeney Todd, Luretta Bybee as Mrs. Lovett, Harry Greenleaf as Anthony Hope, Emily Pogorelc as Johanna Barker, Peter Volpe as Judge Turpin, Nicholas Nestorak as Tobias Ragg, Bille Bruley as Beadle Bamford, Patricia Schuman as the Beggar Woman, and Christopher Bozeka as Adolfo Pirelli.

John DeMain conducted The Glimmerglass Festival Orchestra and Chorus. The chorus master was David Moody.
