News   Sweeney Todd's Molina to Play the Duplex May 20
Lauren Molina, who played Johanna — as well as the cello — in the recent revival of Sweeney Todd, will go it solo at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre May 20.

Molina has titled her show I Dream in Song; show time is 9:30 PM. "It will be a night of my original folk/poppy whimsical, harmony filled music," the singing actress states in an e-mail, "classical musical theatre songs (gotta have Sondheim!), and rock/pop tunes . . . And of course I'll be rocking the guitar, cello, and ukulele." Lauren Molina made her Broadway debut in Sweeney Todd. She appeared in Henry, Sweet Henry at the York Theatre, Just So Stories for Theatreworks/USA and Meet Me in St. Louis for Musicals Tonight! Molina, a graduate of the University of Michigan, was also a back-up singer for Sarah Brightman during Brightman's La Luna tour.

The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue. There is a $12 cover and a two-drink minimum. Call (212) 255-5438 for reservations.
