News Swit, Miller, O'Bryan and Blanchard Cast in TUTS 42nd Street Casting has been announced for the Theatre Under the Stars free staging of the classic showbiz musical 42nd Street, which begins performances July 9 in Houston.

Running through July 14 at the Miller Outdoor Theatre, 42nd Street will have direction and choreography by Norb Joerder. John Visser serves as musical director. Loretta Swit ("M*A*S*H," The Mystery of Edwin Drood) will portray Dorothy Brock with Austin Miller (Trip of Love, "Grease: You're The One That I Want") as Billy Lawlor, Shannon M. O'Bryan (Broadway's 42nd Street) as Peggy Sawyer and Steve Blanchard (Beauty and the Beast, Little House on the Prairie) as Julian Marsh.

The 42nd Street company also includes Tony Lawson as Pat Denning, Denise Nolin as Maggie Jones, James Young as Bert Barry, David Titus as Abner Dillon and Sarah Strimel as Anytime Annie.

Featured in the ensemble are Robert J. Abdoo, Andrew Black, Adam Brozowski, Jason Michael Butler, Abby Church, Veronica Diperna, Lisa Guignard, Sarah Marie Hicks, Rashaan James II, Kolina Janneck, Scott Leiendecker, Christian Mansfield, Janelle Neal, Candice Pennefather, Tripp Pettigrew, Chuck Rea, Ariel Reid, Krista Saab, Geo Seery, Samantha Shafer, Stephanie Van Duynhoven and Correy West.

The design team includes James Fouchard (scenic design), Roger Kirk (costume design), Paul Miller (lighting design) and Peter Fitzgerald (sound design).

With a book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble and a score by Harry Warren and Al Dubin, 42nd Street "is the classic backstage tale of aspiring actress and small-town girl, Peggy Sawyer, who finds love and success on the Great White Way." The musical includes "Lullaby of Broadway," "We're in the Money," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" and the title song.
