News Sydney Theatre Company's Long Day's Journey, with Hurt and Nevin, to Make U.S. Debut in August The Sydney Theatre Company production of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night, starring William Hurt and Robyn Nevin, will play Portland, OR's Artists Repertory Theatre in August.

The joint production, previously announced as part of the STC season, will first make its Australian debut June 29-Aug. 1. STC co-artistic director Andrew Upton will stage the production that will arrive in the U.S. Aug. 13-29.

A cast of American and Australian actors is being assembled for O'Neill's autobiographical family drama that features Hurt as James Tyrone and Nevin as his wife Mary. The cast will also feature Luke Mullins, Emily Russell and Todd Van Voris.

Long Day's Journey will have set design by Michael Scott-Mitchell, costume design by Tess Schofield, lighting design by Nick Schlieper and original music and sound design by Max Lyandvert.

The Artists Repertory Theatre season will also include O'Neill's Ah, Wilderness! (Sept. 7-Oct. 10); Susanna Mars' Mars on Life – Live! (Nov. 16-Dec. 16); Tracy Letts' Superior Donuts (Jan. 4-Feb. 6, 2011); Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant of Inishmore (Feb. 8-March 13, 2011); Bob Glaudini's Jack Goes Boating (March 15-April 17, 2011); and Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard (April 19-May 22, 2011).
