McCartney left the production Dec. 1, 2003, on maternity leave. The big voiced singer-actress gave birth to Megan Elizabeth Moynahan Dec. 5. During her absence, understudy Brooke Elliott portrayed the role of Big Sue. There had been rumors that producer Rosie O'Donnell would step into McCartney's role, but that never materialized.
