The new musical comedy Gettin' the Band Back Together began previews July 18 and officially opens August 13 at the Belasco Theatre. The production's book was written by Ken Davenport and the Grundleshotz, with music and lyrics by Mark Allen.

Gettin' the Band Back Together tells the inspiring, comedic story of Mitch Papadopolous, who gave up his dream of becoming a rock star for a life of security. He had all the security he needed, but ended up having to move back in with his mother. His former high school arch nemesis also then threatens to foreclose their home and many other homes in their small New Jersey town. In order to save the town, Mitch has to get his old band back together to win The Battle of the Bands.

Gettin' the Band Back Together is directed by the Tony Award-winning, John Rando. The cast of features Mitchell Jarvis (Mitch Papadopoulos), Jay Klaitz (Bart Vickers), Manu Narayan (Dr. Rummesh "Robbie" Patel), Paul Whitty (Michael “Sully” Sullivan), Sawyer Nunes (Ricky “Bling” Goldstein), Marilu Henner (“Mitch's Mom,” aka Sharon Papadopoulos), Kelli Barrett (Dani), Becca Kötte (Tawney), Garth Kravits (Ritchie), Tamika Lawrence (Roxanne Velasco), Noa Solorio (Billie), and Brandon Williams (Tygen Billows). The cast also includes Lindsey Brett Carothers, Ryan Duncan, Scott Richard Foster, Jenny Hill, Nehal Joshi, J. Elaine Marcos, Rob Marnell, Jasmin Richardson, Ian Ward, and Tad Wilson.

The creative team also includes Derek McLane as scenic designer and Ken Billington as lighting designer.
