Manhattan Theatre Club’s American premiere of The Royal Court Theatre’s production of The Children is now in previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The new play by Olivier Award winner Lucy Kirkwood (Chimerica) will officially open December 12.

In Kirkwood’s dark and surprising play, three retired nuclear engineers reunite in a remote cottage on the British coast. Outside, the world is reeling from a disaster, raising questions about who is responsible and what the solution looks like.

London cast members Francesca Annis (BBC’s Cranford), Olivier Award nominee Ron Cook (Juno and the Paycock), and Olivier Award winner Deborah Findlay (Stanley) are reprising their roles on Broadway. James Macdonald directs.
