Tony Awards Take a Look at the 2015-2016 Tony-Nominated Musicals The nominated shows display a wide range of musical, visual and storytelling styles.

Which of your favorites made the cut?

Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's Bright Star picked up several other nominations including Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. Carmen Cusack was given a nod for Best Actress in a Musical.

Hamilton led the way with a record-breaking 16 nominations, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Direction of a Musical and multiple acting category noms.

School of Rock – The Musical also received a nomination recognizing Andrew Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater's original score. Alex Brightman's work was recognized with his Best Actor in a Musical nom.

Best Musical nominee Waitress marks singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles' foray into writing for Broadway and she wound up with a nomination for Best Original Score. Jessie Mueller's performance was recognized with a Best Actress in a Musical nomination.

Shuffle Along, Or the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed received a nomination for Best Musical as well others including best Choreography and Best Book of a Musical. The production, as of yet, has not released footage.
