The American Repertory Theater honored trustee and philanthropist Paul Buttenwieser at its 2018 gala in Boston March 5. The event, which was held at the Boch Center for the Performing Arts, raised a record $1.3 million toward the theatre’s artistic, community, and education programs.
During the event, the cast of Jagged Little Pill gave guests a preview of the upcoming Alanis Morissette musical, set to premiere at A.R.T. in May. The musical will use the Morissette catalog, including the songs from her Grammy-winning 1995 album of the same name, to tell an original story that follows a modern, multi-generational family and explores gender and racial identity.
